Three Outstanding Prospect Development Positions in the Pacific Northwest

I no longer live in the Pacific Northwest, but I worked and lived in Portland for more than 15 years, and still have many clients in Seattle and Washingon. The prospect research community that created APRA-NW is generous and inviting, and the PNW is a terrific place to live.

Here are three exciting positions available currently in the Portland/Vancouver WA or in Seattle if you are interested in relocating.

First, in the Greater Portland area, there is a research analyst position at the Clark College Foundation. Founded in 1933, Clark College is a two-year public college serving Washington State students. I’ve known Clark College Foundation to be very good about using prospect research to advance its goals. Two important institutions in Seattle are also hiring.

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is looking for a Prospect Researcher II. Tracy Drake, the Chief Philanthropic Officer, is a former client and truly appreciates the value of research. Read the job description here.

Lastly, the UW is looking for a Director of Prospect Development. I’ve never worked for UW, but I know that they run a sophisticated metrics based development operation with a lot of fun employees. I’ve also noticed a lot of opportunities for training and advancement at the UW.

This role runs the prospect management team, creates positive relationships with front-end fundraisers, and helps shape the direction of the department. UW is looking for someone with an in-depth knowledge of major gift best practices as well as someone who helps others become great leaders.
